Foundation Grant Powers Hands-On Manufacturing Experience for Andrew High School Students
Thanks in part to a District 230 Foundation grant, Andrew High School T-Bolts had an opportunity to explore post-secondary career options in the skilled trades by touring National Tube Supply Company in celebration of Manufacturing Day.
The tour provided students interested in vocational paths a firsthand look at a leading North American supplier of customized tubular and bar products. During the visit, students connected directly with industry professionals, including machinists, material handlers, and machine operators, gaining insight into daily operations and career pathways in manufacturing.
"Every student's future path is unique, and our goal is to ensure they have the resources and exposure needed to pursue their passions," said Lakeisha Kizer Andrew High School College Counselor. "Partnerships like this show students the wide array of viable, rewarding careers available in the trades."
With the monies supplied by the District 230 Foundation grant, District 230 high school College and Career Centers are expanding student opportunities to interact with professionals across diverse industries, from technical trades to traditional four-year college paths.
