The Consolidated High School District 230 Board of Education thanked District 230 Foundation Board President Ann Oliver for her 17 years of service to the students and staff of its three high schools. Oliver recently announced that she is stepping down as the District Foundation Board President to pursue retirement plans and spend more time with her grandchildren.
Oliver joined the District 230 Foundation Board in 2008. Shortly after, she took on the role of vice president. She remained in that position until 2013, when she was asked to be president.
Oliver initiated and was part of several school and district-wide fundraisers, including galas, Health & Wellness Expos, Second City performances, a golf ball drop, and the Foundation’s signature fundraiser, Whoop It Up!
During her tenure on the Board, the Foundation started its annual Legacy Hall, where notable alumni are inducted for doing extraordinary things in their field of choice. She oversaw a new logo and motto in 2020, and in 2023, the Foundation Board was awarded an Illinois State Board of Education Those Who Excel Award.
She encouraged the Board to hire its first executive director. Under Oliver’s leadership, the Board has awarded more than $500,000 to 160 teacher grants, including grants that piloted several ideas which are now cemented in the district’s curriculum, including Math in Construction courses at all three high schools and The Center, a resource room at Andrew High School.
In addition to her extensive work with the District 230 Foundation, Oliver serves as the Palos Park Woman’s Club Co-President. An artist at heart, she also volunteers at McCord Gallery.
Superintendent Dr. Robert Nolting said, “It has been both an honor and a pleasure to work alongside Ann for nearly two decades. Her selfless service has left an indelible mark on our school community. She has gone above and beyond to make a positive impact for our Chargers, T-Bolts, and Eagles - both students and staff. We all owe her our thanks.”
