Max Strus was a standout athlete, playing football, varsity baseball, and three years of varsity basketball. He began his collegiate basketball career at Lewis University, earning second team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors and leading his team to the 2016 GLVC Championship and a Division II NCAA Tournament berth. Max set school records for points in a season (666) and a single game (52), earning Division II All-American recognition. He transferred to DePaul University, where he became only the second Blue Demon to score 700 points in a season and set the school record for three-pointers in a season (113), earning second team All-Big East honors. Max made his NBA debut with the Chicago Bulls in 2019 and, after recovering from an ACL tear, joined the Miami Heat, helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2022. Off the court, Max is committed to giving back—donating basketball shoes to Stagg athletes, mentoring students, and launching the Max Strus Basketball Camps, which teach fundamental skills and support the Andrew Weishar Foundation, helping families of adolescents battling cancer. Max continues to inspire both on and off the court with his skill, dedication, and generosity.
