Dr. David Sartoris

After graduating Stagg, Dr. Sartoris went on to Stanford University where he earned his undergraduate degree, medical degree, an internship and a residency. He then joined University of California – San Diego as a fellow in the musculoskeletal section of the radiology department and became an attending physician at UCSD a year later. He then became chief operator of one of only three new scanning devices in the United States designed for diagnosing osteoporosis. In 1988, he was elected to the International Skeletal Society. He lived a full a life and contributed greatly through his research, teaching and medicine. Sadly, in 2000, he passed away. His work in the field of bone density imaging earned him an international reputation among colleagues. He also volunteered as a mentor for high school students, appeared at US Senate special hearing to promote priorities and funding for women’s health. He received many awards for his outstanding achievements.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
