Michael Perri

Sandburg alum Michael Perri attributes his success to the same resolve and optimistic ttitude he displayed as a child in foster care until he was adopted at the age of 10. He says that while growing up in Chicago's foster care system, he wote plays and asked the other kids to act them out. He is now a writer on the NBC drama "State of Affairs" starring Katherine Heigl. Before moving to LA to write full-time, he traveled the world as a technology and cyber-intelligence consultant with top secret clearance, Decidng to forego his technology career, he sought out what really made him happy, writing for the screen. THis led to work in digital cntent creation for NBC Universal and serving as Vice President and Executive Producer for Yes No Maybe Media. Perri was recently awarded a coveted spot in the Writers on the Verge Fellowship at NBC Universal and has earned many well deserved awards for his writing.
