Dr. Nely Keinanen

Once graduated from Stagg, Dr. Keinanen attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Chanmpaign. She graduated with the highest distinction with her Bachelor's in English. She then earned her Master's degree in English and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, as well. She went on to become a Senior Lecturer at the University of Helsinki in Finland. She is currently a University Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Helsinki. She has also been voted twice by students in the department where she teachers as "Most Inspiring Teacher." She is a member of the American Women's Club in Helsinki, Finland and has served as Newsletter Editor and Vice President of Programs. In addition to social activities, the Women's Club does charity work, which includes opffering free services for the mentally disabled as well as assistance to people living along the Russian border with Finland. She has published numerous works; two of which are completed in Finnish.
