Sara Howe

While at Stagg, Sara Howe was actively involved in the school's teen leadership Project Snowball retreat and now in her professional life oversees the statewide Project Snowball and Illinois Teen Institute. She is the Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association. She holds a Master's degree in Health Promotion with a research emphasis in Collediate Peer Alcohol Abuse Prevention and a Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion from Purdue University. She is lead author of the October 2001 publication in the American Journal of Health Behavior "Evaluating a Fear Appeal Message to Reduce Alcohol Use Among 'Greeks.'" She offers professional counsel to Stagg High School and District 230 and was integral in bringing together a panel of experts for the District 230 S4 Symposium on Empowering Teens to Make Good Choices in 2014.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
