After graduating Stagg High School, William Hilarides earned an appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. He earned his degree in physics and was a recipient of the Trident Scholar Research studynig Radiation Damage in Optical Fibers. He held many positions such as Division Officer aboard the USS Pargo in Groton, Connecticut, Action Officer with The Join Staff in Washington, DC and much more. While holding his posts, he managed to find time to continue his education completing Air Force Command and Staff college in 1995. Hilarides has received many awards and honor throughout his career such as Defense Superior Medal Meritorious Service Medal and the Packard Awarded for Acquistion Excellence in 2007 and 2008.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
