From Stagg, Dr. Guzik went on to Cornell College in Iowa where she earned Bachelors Degrees in Physics, Mathematics and Russian Studies. From there, she continued her education at Iowa State University where she earned a PhD in Astrophysics.
Currently, Dr. Guzik serves as a scientist and laboratory fellow and is part of the nuclear threat assessment group at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. She has earned four Distinguished Performance Awards and 11 Department of Energy Defense Program Awards of Excellence.
Supplementary to her work, she has continued astrophysics research in stellar evolution and pulsation, specializing in modeling the sun and pulsating variable stars. Dr. Guzik has received many grants from NASA, the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics and the Laboratory Directed Research Development.
