Jack Griffin

During Jack Griffin's time at Stagg High School, he was known for his friendliness in the classroom as well as his skill on the wrestling mat. He was a two-time IHSA Individual State Wrestling Champion and captain of Stagg's 1984 IHSA State Wrestling Champion Team. Griffin went on to study and wrestling at Northwestern University where he won two All-American honors in 1990. Griffin also won Big Ten titles in 1989 and 1990, and finished his college career with a 156-21-1 record which marked most wins ever for a NU wrestler. He has come back to Stagg multiple times to share his experience and knowledge for high school wrestlers. Griffin graduated with a Bachelors degree in Human Devolpment and Social Policy and now is Northwestern's Assistant Athletic Director.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
