Brian Forystek, a 1996 graduate of Carl Sandburg High School, is one of the most accomplished baseball players in school history, setting single-season records for strikeouts, wins, and ERA while leading the Eagles to state and earning All-State and Chicago Tribune Player of the Year honors. Drafted out of high school by the Florida Marlins, he chose to play in college instead. Brian attended Illinois State University and after an outstanding college baseball career, he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles where he pitched for seven seasons and earned a spot on the team’s 40-man roster in 2002. Today, Brian channels his lifelong passion for baseball into his work as owner of Future Stars Baseball Academy and Chicago Elite, organizations that have guided more than 150 athletes to college baseball careers, including 77 Division I players and seven Major League draft picks.
