Dan Dougherty graduated from Andrew High School in 1998 and from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003 with a degree in Fine Arts. He received the Talent Tuition Award from the UIC Art Faculty and also won the Union League Citywide Art Competition in 2003. Dougherty is the writer, illustrator and creator of Berado, featured in Southtown Star and the Daily Illini newspapers. He has several publications including Band Nerd, Wyatt Earp and the Justice Riders. Dougherty's work as a gallery artist is featured in the Carl Hammer Gallery, Gallery 400 and Union Leagues Art Club. He was also the designer of the award-winning logo for Loggerhead Tools brand.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
