While at Stagg, Jason DeSanto was the champion at the IHSA speech tournament in 1984 in the area of humor acting and again in 1986 in original oratory and special occasion speaking. Once DeSanto graduated from Stagg High School, he went on to the University of Pennsylvania Law School. While in law school, he was editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, a legal writing instructor and winner of the George Schectman Prize.
With his legal background, his interest gravitated to politics. For more than a decade, he served as a politial speechwriter, debate strategist, and communications adviser. He has written for U.S. Senators, members of Congress and the Democratic National Committee.
DeSanto went on to teach speech courses at Northwestern University. He also was an English teacher in former Czecholovakia in the country's first year of post-Communist governance.
