Since her graduation from Andrew High School, Andrea Darlas has distinuished herself as one of Chicago's finest journalists. She earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois in Champaign. Darlas became a disc jockey for the former college ratio station WPGU-FM and also worked as a reporter for two Chapaign radio stations. Her career has lead her to WGN Radio where she anchors the morning news weekdays on the Spike O'Dell Show. Darlas also is a reporter that covers many state lawmakers. She received many awards such as 2nd Place honors in the "Best Reporter" category from the Associated Press, two Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and many more.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
