Raymond Chehy soared out of Andrew High School to pursue a degree in Aeronautical Engineering through the United State Air Force. He stayed in the Air Force after receiving his degree to work as an engineer and train to become a pilot. Once he finished his training, he received a "flying training award" for having a top flying score and went to Ramstein Airbase in Germany. On one of his missions, they awarded him with the MacKay Trophy for most outstanding flight.
His skills and courageous nature were put to the test when he rescued 39 wounded sailors from the U.S.S. Cole bombing in Oactober 2000. In 2006, he became Major in the U.S. flying military and that following January, was given a staff position at the Pentagon as VIP Flight Scheduler.
He has received many awards and medals including 4 air medals for 48 combat missions flown over Iraq and Afghanistan.
