Robert Boucek continues his studies at the United States Merchant Marine Academy after graduating from Sandburg High School. After earning his degree in Nautical Science, he began his career as Manager of Marine Operation of ports in both Savannah and New York. In 1985, he was named Vice President of Meehan Overseas Terminal where he was responsible for all of the operations at Port of Richmond, Virginia. He instituted a modernization and marketing program that resulted in significant gains in both vessel activities and overall volume. After several jobs, Boucek began his work for Feed the Hungry as a Director of Logistics. He was responsible for the distribution of food to third world countries in Africa, Central and South America, Haiti and India. Feed the Hungry was one of the first orgamization on the scene after Hurricane Katrina hit.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
