Dr. Sandra Biedron

After graduation from Sandburg, Dr. Sandra Biedron continued her education at Moraine Valley Community College, then Trinity Christian College and leter earned her doctorate in Accelerator Physics from Lund University in Sweden. So far, Biedron has earned 13 honors and awards and belongs to professional organizations, with major leadership responsibilities in several. During her years of service at Argonne, she worked with Department of Energy laboratories and the U.S. Department of Defense. She currently holds a tenure-track position as Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University in Fort Collins where her sub-specialty isbeam physics/particle accelerators. She is also the U.S. representative designated by the Department of Defense for a NATO research team. She has delivered more than 95 lectures in the U.S., Canada, Australia and many other places around the world.

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
