Jonathan Beyer turned his vocal talent into a show-stopping career, performing with several opera companies around the world including Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Hong Kong Opera and many others. While at Sandburg High School, Beyer shined as a state qualifier for the speech team as well as in his writing and performance for plays and musicals at the school. Beyer attended Roosevelt University and the Curtis Institute. From there, he embarked on a career that would take him around the world. He has received prizes from some of the most pretigious operas in the world including being a National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council COmpetition and the First Place Winner at the Marian Anderson Prize for Emerging Classical Artists. After hearing him perform, his nominator remarked: "His Voice is medicine for the soul."

ABOUT US 

The District 230 Foundation is a partnership between community volunteers and school leaders to provide educational opportunities and services for students beyond what the typical budget can fund. The Foundation provides grants that bring teachers' creative ideas to life for students, as well as scholarships to graduating seniors from Sandburg, Stagg and Andrew High Schools. The District 230 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the law.
